What ever happened to good TV game shows?

Gameshow legend, Roy Walker, on the best gameshow ever.

I'm asking you now... when was the last time you saw a decent game show on television? Where have the days of Bruce Forsyth's Price is Right, The Generation Game and Catchphrase gone?
The likes of Roy Walker, Les Dennis and, of course, Brucey used to make Saturday nights!

But now the game show scene is being black marked by the likes of Deal or No Deal and Golden Balls?! I mean seriously, how can you call a game where the idea is to blatantly guess and pick boxes is not a game show. It is THE shittest game show ever. What places Noel Edmund's shite box parade at the top of the league for shit game shows, is because they imply that there's skill in the game. "I'll have box 8 please Noel." As if they've had a lot of thinking to do. I'd like to point out that in the Generation Game, you had to remember  the best part of 12 items in order to win... and they were going bloody fast on that conveyor belt!

Noel Edmunds, evil mastermind behind the Deal or No Deal show.

So I ask, nay, I beg! Dear people that control the magic picture box, please give us back the decent games. In exchange, we'll give Noel Edmunds, Vernon Kay and Phillip Schofield in sacrifice to bring back Roy Walker, Les Dennis and Jim Davidson!

Christmas Time can be rewritten.

Matt Smith in 'The Doctor and Vincent'

YES!

Sorry for that little outburst... I'm just getting very excited for the new episode of Dr Who to be aired on Christmas day. Matt Smith returns as the quirky Time Lord in this new episode of his adventures. As it's Christmas, there's obviously going to be a Christmas theme. How about a classic? Yes, the producers that turn the cogs on Dr Who have served up a treat by adapting Charles Dickens' infamous book, A Christmas Carol. I don't know the entire story yet and I wouldn't want to either... I like the surprise. But here's something I do know.

**Spoiler Alert**

As BBC News at 10, just before Match of the Day, would say... "if you don't want to see the results, look away now."

Well, Michael Gambon guest stars as a Scrooge-esk character who has the chance to save a space-liner from a dangerous Space Shark. It's all very exciting, with The Doctor utilising his TARDIS to help convince Gambon, who impressively plays Harry Potter legend Albus Dumbledore, to assist in the saving of thousands of people on-board the stricken liner. It sounds brilliant, as per usual.

It's fair to say, I'm looking forward to this Dr Who Christmas Special more than Christmas itself!
